
Dan Jones (sound design) trained as a theatre director in Canada and studied music at Oxford and the Centro Ricerche Musicale Rome. He works in theatre and film and his extensive output includes scores for Menno Meyjes’ film Max (winner Ivor Novello Award for Best Film Score 2004), the Oscar-nominated Shadow of the Vampire (now a concert work in its own right), Tomorrow La Scala (BAFTA Best Film nominee), Pawel Pawlikowsky & Ian Duncan’s Twockers, William Tuckett’s Slippage for Rambert Dance Co., Mike Hodges’ Murder by Numbers and David Attenborough’s Life of Mammals.
He collaborated with John Berger, Sebastiao Salgado, and Paul Carlin on the Spectre of Hope and his work with artist Luke Jerram, (Sky Orchestra), producing aerial surround sound scores from hot air balloons now tours internationally. Dan also contributed music to Isaac Julien’s Paradise Omeros, part of the Tate Modern permanent collection. A co-founder and co-artistic director of Sound&Fury, he directed and sound-designed Ether Frolics, War Music and Kursk. His other music and sound design credits include A Prayer for My Daughter (YV), Tim Crouch's multi award-winning England (world tour) and Zinnie Harris' Fall (RSC).
